Bei der "Vinvest" Ausstellung letzte Woche in Timisoara wurden die Neuen Weine von Cramele Recas vorgestellt. La Putere oder "Kraft" ist das Neueste Label das uns einen Bärenkopf auf der Etikette zeigt und die Kraft der Natur symbolisiert die aus diesem Wein hervorgeht, erzeugt durch die aktuellste Winzertechnologie. Das Sortiment enthält: die erste Feteasca Neagra von Recas, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Feteasca Regala, Sauvignon Blanc und Riesling. Die Weine Merlot und Riesling werden ab April auch in kleinen 375 ml Flaschen erhältlich sein.

Cramele Recas belegt wieder die besten Platzierungen mit den meisten Gold Medaillen bei dem Rumänischen Nationalen Wettbewerb von Timisoara unter der Schirmherrschaft der autorisierten Weintester aus Rumänien. Das Resultat: 9 Gold Medaillen, 4 Silber Medaillen und 2 Bronze Medaillen. Speziell hervorzuheben ist die große Anzahl der Gold Medaille der Weine der 2005er Ernte da diese generell als ein schwieriger Jahrgang in Rumänien betrachtet wird wobei sich bei Cramele Recas dennoch durch harte Arbeit und Investitionen ein gutes Jahr herausstellt.

Recas wines were recently awarded two silver medals in the prestigeous East European wine challenge 2005, held by the Beverage Testing Institute of Chigago.

The 2005 vintage started today, and to carefully craft the unique grapes from this year into outstanding wines, Cramele Recas has enlisted the help of top Australian winemaker Hartley Smithers.
With well over 20 vintages behind him, Hartleys experiance is also used by world famous wine producer Casella in Australia - makers of one of the most sucessfull brands in the world- Yellowtail. Hartley is a senior winemaker at Casella and will be going back there in the new year.

Cramele Recas picked up a record three awards at the prestigeous London wine Challenge- widely acknowledged as the toughest wine competition in the world with over 6000 wines. Certificate of approval awards were given to the Resera Pinot Noir 2003, Pinot Grigio V 2004 and Pinot Grigio Origin 2004.
All these , plus a full range of other extiting new wines and packaging combinations will be on show at this months Vinexpo Bordeaux where Cramele Recas will be present on stand R 350 , Hall 3.

Cramele Recas once again took one of the top places in the Bucharest International wine competition- the most prestigious wine comptition in Romania undertaken under the rules and supervision of the OIV.
The results were impressive- Gold for the 02 Cabernet Reserva, and silvers for the 02 Merlot Reserva and three new wines from the excellent 2004 vintage - Pinot Grigio, Muscat and Riesling.

Recas wines were awarded a series of medals at the Western Canada International wine competition.Two silver medals and three bronze medals from five wines entered was the final result , despite tough competition from hundreds of wines from top wine producing countries.
Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio DOC Recas under the Vampire label, and Chardonnay and Cabernet Vampire won bronze as did the newly released Recas Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon just two weeks after its release.

South African winemakers for 2004 harvest

The 2004 harvest started in very good conditions on Friday 10th September. To oversee the harvest and produce the best quality wines possible, Cramele Recas has hired two top winemakers from South Africa, Charl Coetzee from Kappzicht Winery in Stellenboch, and Kajo Malek - who's former post was as winemaker at Woopenburg Winery also in Stellenboch.Both will remain in Romania for the duration of the winemaking period and will be part of a longer term plan that involves training Cramele Recas workers both in Romania and top wineries in South Africa.

The Recas 2003 Pinot Grigio was awarded for the second year running a 'Seal of Approval diploma' at the worlds most important wine Competition - the London Internationa Wine Challenge. This wine sold in England under the Origin brand and available nationwide at Thresher groups almost 2500 sotes, is on course to become during 2004 the best selling Romanian wine in the UK ever. Origin Brand is now in the top 15 Uk wine brands less than one year after its launch.

Massive investments with EU aid

Cramele Recas group has now signed contracts with the Eu's Sappard program for countries in acession to the EU.
The result is almost 1.5 million Euro of new investments in the vineyard and winery - part of which is co-financed by the Sappard Program. Cramele Recas is now in the middle of the biggest upgrading investment program ever for Recas winery, with a new bottling hall, state of the art bottling and packaging machinery, the introduction of bag in box packaging, and an ultramodern grape reception and fermentation area- all in stainless steel. In the vinyard 22 hectares of new plantations for 2004 have now been finished and in 2005 we will plant a further 50 Hectares from the highest quality clones from France -of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvigno, Syrah and Viognier.

Cramele Recas has launched another set of Reserva wines - to complete the Terra Dacica range, already distributed in New York by Tri Vin imports, Southern Germany by Sorica Suscu, and Bucharest by Provinum. The Cabernet Sauvignon DOC Recas 2002 and Merlot DOC Recas 2002 are outstanding examples of these varieties made in a modern, fruit driven style, but with great structure and intensity - carefully matured in fine American, Hungarian and French oak. The quality package is completed by a state of the art, transparent PVC label - given a modern, but elegant looks to the wines.

Cramele Recas will be participating at a number of events this and next month. First is a major wine tasting of the new 2003 vintage wines at the Romanian Embassy in London on 24th Feb. We will be showcasing the new vintage wines created by Davin Locekly, and the Reserva wines from our Barrique program.
After that the company will be participating at the Prowein exhibition in Dusseldorf Germany from 29th Feb to 2th March - on Stand 25 Hall 6 where we will be showing our new ranges launched exclusively for the German market.
From 9th March through 12th March the company will be participating at the Foodex in Tokio Japan, with a range of wines specially created for the Japanese and Korean markets, plus some new projects for these and other Asian markets.
Lastly the company will participate from 12th to 14th March at the inaugural edition of Viniwest - a new wine exhibition held at the Expowest centre in Timisoara.

Cramele Recas has launched two new range of wines for the Danish market. La Putere(literally 'the Power') is an elegant range with an ultramodern packaging designed by juliagraf Italia, the first wines are a Sauvignon Blank and a Cabernet Sauvignon, to be followed in February 2004 by Merlot. Also the winery have launched the Via Recas range-, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - to be aimed at the Danish HORECA sector. The 2003 harvest seems to have been one of the best for years - with a long dry growing season, followed by good weather during the harvest. This year Cramele Recas has hired David Lockely, award winning winemaker from the famous Yonder Hill Winery in Stellenboch South Africa. David is helping us to make the wines in an internationally appealing style - right up to date with the latest trends on world markets.

Cramele Recas has inaugurated a new visitor centre at its winery in Recas. This is composed of an underground complex of caves, renovated from old winery, a new wine shop and the complete modernization of the companies head office to Western standards. The cave complex - consists of three large caves - 9 meters underground - one contains a Barrique hall with over 100 American and French oak barriques for producing special Reserva wines, the second holds a Vinoteque that holds the wineries treasures from 1940s onwards, and the third cave contains a delightful rustic wine tasting and restaurant hall - seating up to 150 people this can cope with both large and small groups and offers the option of just wine tasting - or various menu's of local Banat gastronomic specialities.
